Job Description:

Join us in tackling one of the most urgent challenges in our community, supporting people who are rough sleeping to find safety, stability, and hope. You’ll join a passionate team committed to reducing rough sleeping and improving lives. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference to people’s lives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide proactive, person-centred support to individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk
  • Deliver outreach in the town centre and known hotspots
  • Act as a single point of contact for clients
  • Help clients access safe and sustainable accommodation
  • Coordinate multi-agency responses
  • Manage referrals into the Emergency Night Hub
  • Oversee a flexible outreach budget to remove barriers to housing
  • Take statutory homelessness applications
  • Take part in the statuary out of hours on-call phone service for the homelessness team.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly those experiencing homelessness and complex needs
  • Experience delivering outreach or street-based engagement services
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and prioritise effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with people facing multiple disadvantages
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
  • DBS clearance is required.
