Job Description:

We are looking for a Rotating Supervisor for one of our clients with the following details: Location: Afungi - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, Work Scheme: Rotational (28x28), Duration: 12 months

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise installation and construction activities related to rotating equipment across EPC work packages
  • Attend daily coordination meetings with EPC Contractors and internal project teams
  • Review look-ahead schedules, manpower allocation, tooling, and workfront readiness
  • Ensure readiness of scaffolding, lifting plans, grouting materials, alignment tools, and equipment access
  • Identify and resolve productivity constraints including preservation issues, vendor availability, and documentation gaps
  • Maintain strong field presence to supervise installation of pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and generators
  • Ensure correct application of vendor drawings, P&IDs, layouts, ITPs, and approved procedures
  • Supervise equipment positioning, leveling, grouting, soft-foot correction, and alignment activities
  • Ensure proper equipment preservation, lubrication, rotation schedules, and storage conditions
  • Provide technical support and clarification to EPC supervisors, foremen, and field technicians
  • Conduct routine inspections on alignment, grouting, bolt tensioning, lubrication systems, and vibration acceptance
  • Follow up NCRs, corrective actions, punch items, and quality observations
  • Ensure strict compliance with approved QA/QC procedures and vendor specifications
  • Conduct daily HSE walkdowns and enforce safe work practices onsite
  • Ensure compliance with lifting plans, PTW systems, LOTO procedures, confined-space entry, and exclusion zones
  • Coordinate interfaces with Civil, Piping, E&I, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams
  • Support pre-commissioning activities including lube-oil flushing, rotation checks, coupling alignment, and auxiliary systems readiness
  • Support commissioning tests, vendor interventions, troubleshooting, and start-up activities
  • Verify Mechanical Completion dossiers, turnover packages, as-built documentation, and punch list closure
  • Prepare daily progress reports covering construction status, constraints, HSE observations, and priorities
  • Review and validate alignment reports, torque logs, quality records, and test pack documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating machinery installation and supervision within Oil & Gas or LNG megaprojects
  • Strong experience with compressors, turbines, pumps, generators, and mechanical packages
  • Proven experience in field supervision, alignment, installation, preservation, and pre-commissioning activities
  • Experience working with EPC Contractors, vendors, QA/QC, and commissioning teams
  • Previous LNG project experience is highly preferred
  • Experience working in remote and multicultural environments
  • Strong expertise in rotating equipment installation, alignment, and commissioning activities
  • Good knowledge of Compressors, Gas Turbines, Pumps, Blowers, Generators, Mechanical Packages, Alignment and vibration analysis, Lubrication and preservation systems, Bolt torquing and tensioning, Mechanical Completion and turnover processes, QA/QC documentation and inspection processes, HSE procedures and safe work practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Equivalent Engineering Discipline
  • Fluent in English
  • Portuguese or French is an advantage
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure in remote project environments
  • Well-organized with strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Strong commitment to HSE and Quality standards
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
