Job Description:

We are looking for a Shift Mechanic to join our Engineering Team at Lothian Country to maintain and undertake diagnostic work on old and new vehicle technology ensuring optimum reliability and performance. The shifts are 4 over 7 including weekends and evenings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all types of vehicles to Lothian & DVSA standards
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
  • Attending vehicle breakdowns as and when required
  • Liaise with the parts department to obtain correct parts
  • Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Ensure all paperwork and inspection sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses as required

Requirements:

  • You must possess a full UK driving licence
  • You must be a time served motor vehicle mechanic
  • A PCV licence is desirable, however the ability to obtain a PCV licence whilst in our employment is essential
  • An aptitude to develop others within the engineering team to improve efficiencies
  • Ability to work under pressure and work as part of a team
  • A flexible approach to working hours
  • Experience of working in the truck or bus industry would be advantageous
