Job Description

We’ve an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Rota Chef to join a busy UHNW household based in South Kensington, London. Working alongside a second Rota Chef, who has been with the family for four years, you will be responsible for delivering high quality, nutritious and family meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients, delivering punchy flavours. The family enjoy simple yet delicious food, nothing overly complex, but always balanced, well presented and full of flavour. This is a long-term position for a chef who brings creativity, strong nutritional knowledge, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic household. The Principals are highly discerning with specific expectations, so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate resilience, professionalism, and the ability to take feedback constructively. This position would suit a chef with a calm, measured approach.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, prepare, and serve daily meals for the family, tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Cook for both adults and children with a strong focus on health and nutrition
  • Cook for the wider household team (two nannies, four housekeepers, two maintenance staff, one driver)
  • Prepare fresh foods daily, including homemade breads, pastas, healthy bakes, and snacks
  • Coordinate with the other chef to ensure seamless rota coverage and consistency in delivery
  • Source the finest seasonal ingredients from trusted local suppliers and markets
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
  • Collaborate closely with household staff to ensure smooth mealtime service
  • Accommodate last-minute changes, special requests, and occasional events or dinner parties
  • Manage kitchen stock, inventory, and supplier relationships
  • Adhere to the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and food presentation
  • Regularly travel with the family, as and when required

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a UHNW private household
  • Strong track record in health focussed, family cooking with fresh ingredients
  • Experience cooking for children aged 3 – 12, with a focus on nutrition
  • Ability to work creatively within simple, balanced menus
  • Calm, unflappable, and solution oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to take direction and constructive feedback with professionalism and poise
  • Warm, humble, open to learning family preferences
  • Dedicated and with a history of longevity in previous positions
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Comfortable traveling with the family in Europe
  • A full, clean UK driving licence (desirable)
