The Room Guest Service Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and appearance of guest rooms and assigned areas. This role ensures that rooms meet brand standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest readiness. The Room Guest Service Assistant responds to guest requests promptly, follows all safety and security procedures, and contributes to a welcoming and positive guest experience.
Job Responsibility
Clean and service guest rooms by replacing amenities, changing linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, removing trash, and restocking supplies
Ensure correct room entry procedures, verify vacancies before entering, and follow company safety protocols
Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest room furniture, appliances, walls, and surfaces through dusting, polishing, and stain removal
Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways
Check that all appliances are present and functioning, reporting any maintenance issues immediately
Transport and maintain a fully stocked housekeeping cart, ensuring all items are organized and replenished
Respond promptly to guest requests and assist other departments as needed to support overall operations
Follow all company, safety, and security policies
complete required safety training and report accidents, hazards, or equipment issues
Maintain a clean, professional appearance
protect the privacy of guests
and ensure confidentiality of company information
Work collaboratively with the team, communicate clearly, and uphold quality standards
Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by Supervisors.
Requirements
Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred
Basic understanding of cleaning standards, chemicals, and equipment use (training provided)
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and push/pull housekeeping carts
Must have legal working rights in Fiji.
