Job Description

Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently with Amplius Housing group as a Roofer. You will need to have experience in all aspects of Roofing including Slate, Tile, Pitched and Flat Roofing as you will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties. This is covering a patch of social housing properties which are based in Peterborough, Ketton and Oakham so travel is essential. The Office is based in Rushden and you will be expected to attend this site for training and monthly team meetings. Core Hours are Monday-Friday start on site at 8.00am-4.30pm. Comes with Company Van & Fuel card and PPE and Tools! + Excellent benefits package with generous holiday entitlement.

Job Responsibility

  • Carrying out predominantly reactive maintenance, repairing and renewing sections on a wide variety of different roof types, (residential and communal), i.e. slate tile repairs, and or flat roof / torch on repairs & general roof maintenance
  • Repair and renew guttering
  • Work on scaffolds and carry out scaffold inspections
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Managers
  • Take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs
  • Operate within company Health and Safety guidelines
  • Remain within budget and time parameters

Requirements

  • PASMA trained and experience of carrying out scaffold inspections (training will be provided if you do not have this)
  • Good knowledge of H&S and working at height
  • Certificate or NVQ in Roofing, or equivalent experience will be considered
  • Full UK Driving licence (max 5 points)
  • No recent driving bans and must be able to pass basic DBS check

Nice to have

  • Past experience in a Responsive Repairs role
  • Social Housing experience
