The Rock Specialist is responsible for the administration, optimization, and strategic use of Rock RMS to support organizational goals. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and effective collaboration across ministries and departments while providing training and support to staff and volunteers.
Job Responsibility:
Configure and maintain Rock RMS modules, including People, Groups, Check-In, Workflows, Dashboards, Plugins, Reports, and Registrations
Manage user permissions and system security protocols
Oversee Rock RMS updates, testing, backups, and overall system reliability
Serve as the primary administrator and liaison with leadership for Rock RMS initiatives
Ensure data integrity by identifying and resolving duplicates
Develop, maintain, and distribute reports and dashboards for leadership and ministry teams
Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to maintain accurate and actionable data
Write and optimize SQL queries (or demonstrate willingness and ability to learn SQL)
Partner with ministries and departments to understand end-user requirements and translate them into functional Rock RMS solutions
Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience
Work closely with IT teams and vendors to address customizations, bug fixes, and technical issues
Support CRM functionality and leverage no-code/low-code features within Rock RMS
Assist ministry leaders and regional managers with event setup and registration processes
Troubleshoot registration and transaction issues promptly
Build and manage event registrations, payment workflows, and attendance tracking
Maintain and update community plugins such as MyWell, PushPay, MinistrySafe, and Clearstream
Update website content and manage content channels through Rock RMS
Design and schedule email and SMS communications to engage the congregation effectively
Provide training and ongoing support for staff, volunteers, and congregation members on Rock RMS and related tools
Develop comprehensive training materials, including user guides and documentation
Offer on-call support during services and events as needed
Conduct annual Rock RMS administrative audits to ensure compliance and security
Stay informed about new Rock RMS features, updates, and best practices
Manage and prioritize Rock RMS work requests using project management tools
Act as a gatekeeper for Rock RMS requests to maintain system alignment and integrity
Evaluate feature requests and document workflows for future reference
Demonstrate technical curiosity, a passion for ministry, and a commitment to continuous learning
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Strong understanding of Rock RMS or willingness to learn quickly
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy
Familiarity with SQL and database management (preferred)
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Systems, or a related field is preferred
Equivalent experience in database administration, CRM systems, or church management software will be considered
Certifications in SQL, Database Management, or Rock RMS Administration (if available)
2–4 years of experience in CRM administration, database management, or church management systems
Hands-on experience with Rock RMS or similar platforms (e.g., Planning Center, FellowshipOne)
Strong background in data integrity, reporting, and user support
Experience with SQL query writing and optimization
Familiarity with event registration systems, payment processing, and plugin integrations
Exposure to website content management and digital communications
Previous work in a ministry or nonprofit environment for cultural alignment
Demonstrates personal integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity
