International Motors is seeking a Robotic Weld Engineer to support and advance our automated welding operations in Tulsa, OK. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you will lead the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of robotic weld cells, Fanuc robotic systems, and advanced automation equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, and suppliers to enhance weld quality, improve cycle times, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Lead cross-functional teams to diagnose fit-up issues in large assemblies and implement corrective actions
Read, interpret, and implement weld schedules
program Fanuc robots to meet all weld specifications and parameters
Evaluate robotic welding processes and develop optimization plans to improve cycle time, throughput, and weld quality
Analyze designs, programs, simulations, and test procedures for automated machinery and manufacturing processes
Apply engineering judgment when selecting methods and techniques to resolve production, automation, and welding-related issues
Communicate technical concepts with programmers, using foundational knowledge of PLC programming and industrial controls
Develop, implement, and support controls architecture focused on system stability, uptime, and ease of operation/maintenance
Monitor project timelines, technical performance, and budgets to ensure alignment with plant and company objectives
Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Support planning, engineering, and commissioning of controls equipment through final buyoffs in collaboration with suppliers and plant teams
Design, build, and commission control panels in accordance with NFPA and NEC standards
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of technical project/program management experience
OR Master’s degree
At least 3 years of technical project/program management experience
OR At least 7 years of technical project/program management experience
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States
Proven experience with Fanuc robot programming, troubleshooting, and repair
Ability to troubleshoot voltages (24VDC–480VAC) using a multimeter
Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Experience with Atlas Copco tool controllers and DC Tool software (ToolsNet, ToolsTalk PowerMAC, ToolsTalk PowerFocus, ToolsTalk 2)
Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs (SLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and software (RSLogix 500/5000, Studio 5000)
Experience programming or troubleshooting Allen Bradley VFDs (PowerFlex, ArmorStart)
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, contractors, and subcontractors
Experience with project scheduling, budget tracking, and performance monitoring
Data-driven problem solving and a continuous improvement mindset
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3–7 years of experience in robotic welding, welding automation, or manufacturing automation engineering
