Minimum of five years Robotic Welding experience and/or college degree in Engineering or related field
Must have experience running an ABB 6-axis, MIG-welding robot
Must be proficient in reading and understanding blueprints
Must have at least three years welding experience
Must have strong math skills

Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks

Job Responsibility

Operate manual and/or robotic welding equipment
Safely apply welds per specifications to produce completed product
Produce assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, including repetitive lifting and placing metal work pieces and sheets into fixtures
Measure dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gages, templates, rulers, etc
Read check sheets and prints to determine specifications and accurately complete all required functions
Accurately document and maintain information in written or electronic form
Perform operator maintenance per established schedules
Safely complete finishing functions such as grinding, sanding, etc
Perform quality checks as prescribed and report issues to lead and/or supervisor
Modify computer-controlled robot movements

Job Responsibility

Programming of ABB, Cloos and Fanuc arc welding robots and ABB Paint Robots
Assist in the development of optimised programming strategies for new and existing robot cells
Provide close daily production support to Fabrication Supervisors for all aspects of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety, related to robot cells
Assist in the development of specifications for new robot cells
Work closely with area manufacturing engineers, to assist in the development and/or improvement of fabrication assembly jigs for components to be robot welded
Assist in the specification, development, and improvement of robot cell safety systems
Identify and develop improvements to robot programmes to increase OEE performance. This may include air-cut time reductions, weld cycle time improvements, total weld ratio improvements, robot weld quality improvements, reduction of all losses - weld defects, rework, cycle stoppages, etc.
