Job Description:

Byron Bay Ranga is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our newly created robotics team as a casual technician for Husqvarna robot mowers. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Robot Mower Technician with experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Husqvarna robotic mowers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of robotic lawn mower technology, electronic troubleshooting, and outdoor equipment repair, as well as a passion for providing excellent customer service. We are open to apprentices to more experienced technicians.

Job Responsibility:

  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose issues in Husqvarna robotic mowers, including hardware and software components, and perform repairs to ensure optimal functionality
  • Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance, including firmware updates, battery replacements, and sensor calibration, to prevent future malfunctions
  • Installation Assistance: Support customers with the installation and initial setup of their robotic mowers, ensuring proper configuration for their specific lawn needs
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand issues, explain repairs, and advise on best practices for mower care and operation
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of each repair or service call, including parts used, time taken, and customer information
  • Inventory Management: Track and manage parts inventory to ensure timely access to essential components
  • Field Support: Travel to customer locations as needed for on-site troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Training and Support: Educate customers, and Ranga Maintenance team members on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Husqvarna robotic mowers

Requirements:

  • Understanding of mechanical systems, small engines, and diagnostic techniques
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, sensors, and diagnostics
  • Mix of experience across mechanical, electronic, and computer systems training, focusing on automation and robotics
  • Strong understanding of robotic lawn mower systems, specifically Husqvarna models, including electrical and mechanical repair skills
  • Ability to diagnose complex problems in robotic systems quickly and accurately
  • Relevant certifications in small engine repair, electronics, or a related field are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, and work in outdoor conditions as needed
  • Valid Driver’s Licence

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with other outdoor equipment or small engine repair
  • Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools and firmware/software updating processes
