Job Description:

Dovehaven Care Homes are Recruiting for a Maintenance Person to work across 23 of our homes as & when required. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance of the care home, ultimately ensuring the safety of all residents, visitors and employees.

Job Responsibility:

  • General Internal Maintenance: furniture, fixtures and fittings, equipment basic heating faults
  • General Exterior: Maintain grounds & gardens, fences and furniture, clear snow and grit paths, clean all signs & lighting
  • Safety: Identify hazards and risks, testing of fire alarm, liaise with contractors onsite, maintain a maintenance book. Ensure paints & varnishes are stored correctly, test and record water temps
  • Moving & Handling: assisting receiving deliveries and storage
  • General duties as requested by the home manager or maintenance manager

Requirements:

  • Experience of DIY and decorating
  • Caring nature
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents
  • Own vehicle with full clean driving licence

Nice to have:

  • A Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience within a Care or Nursing Home setting or similar
