As a Road Safety Engineer, you will have the opportunity to help make Gloucestershire’s roads safer by preventing the risk of injuries and saving lives.
Job Responsibility:
Analyse collision data
Implement speed management initiatives
Provide safety reviews of highway design proposals
Undertake Road Safety Audits
Assist in the management of road safety schemes
Provide advice to colleagues and external partner organisations
Review applications to changes in the operation of the highway in terms of speed limits etc.
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other GCC teams and external partner organisations to deliver road safety solutions
Work with local, regional, and national interest groups in liaison with internal GCC teams to help in the evolution, innovation and promotion of safe, healthy and sustainable travel for all road users
Requirements:
Knowledge and appreciation of the Safe Systems approach to road safety
Knowledge and experience in improving road safety including requirements for ensuring highway design meets standards and guidance and provides safe solutions for all road users
Experience in collision data analysis and deriving solutions to road safety issues
Ability to undertake Road Safety Audits including being qualified in accordance with GG119
Excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure service levels are maintained
Customer-focused nature to help build working relationships with stakeholders
