The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. You will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members
Appropriately assists team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management
Delivers compassionate, high-quality care
Provides individualized, comprehensive care
Makes critical assessments
Performs skilled procedures
Implements patient care plans
Collaborates seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team
Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data
Follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways
Notifies physicians as appropriate
Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs
Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs
Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family
Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
Communicates patient's plan of care and significant changes to all members of the interdisciplinary team, patient, family and significant others
Makes independent clinical decisions
Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict
Requirements:
1 year recent open heart OR critical care experience
May consider training with one year of Telemetry or Step Down experience, if operational conditions exist
Training positions require completion of basic critical care and dysrhythmia classes
Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills
Current California Registered Nurse license
Current BLS, ACLS required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire into the position
