Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum of 2 years of Acute Care experience, with additional experience in telemetry
Current RN license by the State of California
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by an American Heart Association approved provider
Proficient computer skills, strong critical thinking and analytical skills, multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to provide care that is thorough, compassionate, and non-judgmental

Job Responsibility

Is aware of patient presenting problem, and past medical history
Completes head-to-toe assessment and gathers relevant patient data (vital signs, labs, etc.) to gain clear understanding of patient status
Monitors for improvement or deterioration of status and intervenes as appropriate
Notifies MD of changes in status
Accurately and safely administers medications per orders
scans 90% or more of all administered medications
Titrates infusions per organizational protocols
Assesses and documents patient response per policy
Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team by working collaboratively with physical therapy, case management, respiratory therapy, nutrition, pharmacy and the MD
attends interdisciplinary rounds and reports nursing specific knowledge and assessment data to the team
