Job Responsibility:
Maintains current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporates into nursing practice.
Able to safely administer medications and blood/blood products using the 7 (seven) rights of medication and blood administration. Uses 2 (two) separate hospital approved identifiers to safely identify the patient prior to medication / blood administration.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments.
Adheres to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrates aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary catheterizations, and other similar duties.
Receive, interpret and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner. Uses hospital approved process for telephone and / or verbal orders that include a readback of all orders.
Requirements:
High School Graduate Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
1 year of operating room/ surgical experience. If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered., upon hire or
