Job Responsibility:
Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards, and interventions specific to the assigned unit
Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system
Communicates clearly and effectively using proper communication etiquette. Uses medical terminology accurately. Includes reporting abnormals or change in patient condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
When within the scope of practice to correct quality concerns do so immediately and report to the nursing management team. If not within scope of practice report quality concern immediately to the management team for assistance or direction
Adheres to the policies, procedures and standards in the delivery of the planned resident's care in the preparation and administration of medications and treatments as ordered by the Physician daily
Demonstrates clinical ability to identify changes and/or abnormal signs and symptoms of the aged, acutely or chronically ill and initiates prompt follow-up with Physician, resident and/or responsible party and with appropriate documentation with 95-98% accuracy and timeliness daily in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act.
Requirements:
Current California RN license
Minimum one (1) year of experience in SNF/LTC care of the aged, acutely ill, chronically ill and patients in need of restorative care
Knowledge in the principles of nursing care within the RN, LVN and CNA scope of practice
Working knowledge of Title 22, OBRA regulations and Joint Commission requirements
Demonstrated ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing in the English language
Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
