Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. This is a seasonal position (13 weeks) in a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients, including Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, and Cardiac cases. The unit is a Level II Trauma, Primary Stroke Center with 24/7 Intensivist coverage. The role involves using the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient response.
Job Responsibility:
Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care.

Requirements:
Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
Major in Nursing
2 years of recent ICU experience
Registered Nurse (RN) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
Knowledge and understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations
standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies
hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of medical terminology
principles and practices of health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention and management
medications and drugs.
Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide-range of constituencies.
Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to observe changes in the medical condition of patients and effectively communicate these changes.
Ability to provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care.
