OPAT is the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Treatment clinic. We are the outpatient ID clinic for the hospital. Many of the patients have been discharged from the hospital on IV and/or oral antibiotics others are patients who need to see an ID specialist. Although it is an outpatient clinic the work involves a lot of hands patient interaction esp. with PICC lines.
Job Responsibility:
Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting
Provide clinical leadership and mentorship for staff
Serve as role model
Provide full range of patient education to patients and family members
Assume relief charge duties, when designated
Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures
Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups
Requirements:
Program Graduate
Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
Nice to have:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
3 years directly related experience
