Job Description

Being a RN - OUTPATIENT SUPERVISOR, at UNM Hospital offers opportunities for professional growth through specialized training and a Clinical Advancement Program, the ability to work at New Mexico's only Level 1 Trauma Center, and involvement in a supportive academic medical center environment with a diverse patient population from throughout the State and from surrounding states. Many of the services provided at UNMH are the only services available in the state. We work in a busy, fast paced environment with students from many disciplines. Job Responsibility

  • Work under the general nursing process while using independent judgement to assign nurses, technicians and nursing care to assigned patients
  • Designate shift and schedule assignments, call in staff, send staff home and monitor attendance
  • Provide clinical leadership for nursing and technician staff
  • Ensure adequate staff to meet patient census
  • Supervise staff and patient care delivery on designated shift, and serve as a clinical resource for staff
  • Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care
  • Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Program Graduate
  • Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
  • 2 years directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM

Nice to have

  • Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Nationally Certified in area of specialty
