Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing professional care specifically to adult, oncology/hematology patients. Work is performed under standards of safety and care that provide instruction/guidance for taking care of issues and patient needs in the absence of a physician/provider. Work requires the application of judgment and critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care (within the scope of practice), including knowledge and integration of available standards, resources and data, and in the efficient utilization of staff/resources.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide professional care to adult, oncology/hematology patients
  • Apply judgment and critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care
  • Administer medications as ordered
  • Administer chemotherapy
  • Apply knowledge of current cancer treatment modalities to patient care
  • Adhere to department and hospital policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence
  • Document care delivered and patient status
  • Incorporate critical thinking into daily practice

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: WA (RN:WA)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
  • Oncology Experience Preferred
  • Bachelors Of Nursing Preferred
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Preferred
