Guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion. Working in Obstetrics - triaging patients or perform screening exams on walk-ins or you may guide patients through a routine induction and delivery. Monitoring the mother’s dilation progress while also keeping close watch on the baby’s fetal heart rate. Coaching mom as the baby is delivered and providing updates and support to the patient’s partner and loved ones.
Job Responsibility:
Assesses antepartal, intraprtal, and postpartal patients for risk factors, normal progress, symptoms of problems, and continuously monitor
detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary
and quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needs
Works collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional care
Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures
Provides patient and family education
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing
Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN)
American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), 6 – Month Grace Period
Certification for Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), 12 – Month Grace Period
