The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Longmont United Hospital is a unit with six beds, caring for 32- week gestation and higher-Level II special care nursery (prematurity, antibiotics, CPAP, Vent, Bilirubin therapy, etc.). We have a great team culture with a very friendly and supportive work environment. We look for candidates with a positive attitude and who are willing to learn and work hard in a team environment.
Job Responsibility:
Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient
Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act
Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values
Requirements:
Associates Degree in Nursing required
Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
1+ year Level II or higher NICU experience preferred
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Strong newborn admission/transition skills preferred. Will need to be able to provide mother/baby care as needed
RN License required
Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
Nice to have:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
RNC-NIC certification preferred
What we offer:
$20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct RN experience
Up to $8,000 in relocation assistance depending on location
$5.75/hr differential from 11pm to 7am for Night Shift RN positions
