Job Description:

The schedule for this position is three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends(7pm-7am). At St. Francis Hospital, an achieved Magnet® hospital, 6 West is a 30-bed unit providing care for a diverse patient population, including post-surgical and general medical patients. We maintain a safe and manageable RN-to-patient ratio, typically 1:4–5 on days and 1:5–6 on nights. Our team thrives on strong collaboration and camaraderie, supported by an active Unit Practice Council that encourages staff engagement and shared decision-making. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment that fosters professional growth, learning, and skill development. We are committed to excellence in patient care while supporting our nurses’ ongoing development and career advancement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required
  • Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice to have:

Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
