Job Description:

The Staff RN is a licensed professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self the nursing process the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other practitioners as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
  • Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel
  • Reports abnormal diagnostic data to physician/shift coordinator/supervisor as appropriate
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, seeking assistance when appropriate
  • Implements patient histories, assesses patients' conditions, and develops individualized care plans for assigned patients. Documents on care plans as patient care evolves, including resolution of problems
  • Assesses patient educational needs and barriers to learning. Implements multidisciplinary patient education care plan and documents patient teaching

Requirements:

  • Current CA RN licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS Certification (within 90 days of hire if candidate does not currently have)

Nice to have:

Three years acute care experience
