Job Description:

As our Labor & Delivery Nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between CHI Health and Dignity Health, you’ll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion. You also will a part of the the recovery and postpartum which includes supporting families that are celebrating the arrival of a newborn and showing compassion and guidance during challenging moments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Guide patients through the labor and childbirth process
  • Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor
  • Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance, general pain management and fetal monitoring
  • Educate patients on various interventions or procedures, medications, exams, and labor stages
  • Assess newborns and provide care
  • Communicate with care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an RN nursing program
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within 6 months of hire

Nice to have:

Graduated within 5 years (for education assistance)
