The incumbent is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members. Job Responsibility:
Assume responsibility and accountability for a patient assignment through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other health care team members
Appropriately assist team members in providing holistic care to patients and their support systems with an awareness of cost containment and time management

Perform routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data

Formulate a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs
Participate in the planning of routine transitional health care needs
Adapt planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content
Integrate education during the delivery of patient care
Ensure efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
Make independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
Follow unit specific safety regulations and guidelines
Actively advocate for patient rights and identify potential conflict
Seek counsel for resolution of conflict
Requirements:
2 years of consecutive recent (within the last 5 years) ED and/or ICU experience
Associates Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Working knowledge of basic dysrhythmia
Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills
Licensed or eligible for licensing in State as a Registered Nurse
BLS and ACLS certifications (from an AHA designated trainer)
PALS certification (or must obtain this certification within 6 months of hire or transfer into position)
