Job Responsibility
Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards
Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy
Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs
Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes
Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice
Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs
Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication
Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth
Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
New graduate or RNs without E.D. or Critical Care experience AND successful completion of the E.D. residency program
Registered Nurse: WA
Basic Life Support - CPR
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 60 Days
Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 12 - months
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 12 - months
Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months
Nice to have
Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
Previous E.D. experience current within the last 2 years or Critical care experience, current within the last 2 years
