Job Description:

Provides nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluating. Implements appropriate nursing care interventions. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.

  • Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and skills necessary for patient care
  • Performs assessment and analyzes patient problems and conditions using critical decision making
  • Implements and/or modifies plan of care using assessment data, standards of care and evidence based practice
  • Integrates ethical provisions in nursing practice
  • Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Evaluates progress towards attainment of desired patient outcomes
  • Demonstrates effective on-going observations and reassessment of patient/family
  • Documents assessments and interventions in accordance with hospital policy
  • Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines
  • Assigns or delegates tasks to designated support personnel
  • Collaborates with new employees and peers to support orientation, training and development opportunities
  • Caring for patients admitted to our heart and vascular intensive care unit
  • Collaborating with cardiologists, EKG techs, echo techs, and others
  • Assess and interpret hemodynamic parameters and communicate any changes in vitals
  • You’ll be a trusted educator and resource for your patients’ recovery and prevention of reoccurring issues

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the State of Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) via the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) via the American Heart Association (AHA) within 3 months of hire

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous nursing experience in Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency or Critical Care service lines
