Job Description:

As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery
  • Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team
  • Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments
  • Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family
  • Act as a professional role model for all staff
  • Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process
  • Actively serves on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments
  • Run front desk in the OR
  • Ensure assignments for staff meet the daily need
  • Schedule the next day’s assignments
  • Communicate case changes to staff, support, and coach staff
  • Hold staff accountable to policy and high standard of practice
  • Collaborate with the lead Anesthesiologist on daily case flow and efficiency
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/practices for department associates
  • Act as leadership within the department to support staff, Manager and Director
  • Clinical role - taking over rooms when coming in and any add ons throughout the night
  • Prep rooms for next days cases when no surgeries are going on
  • Coming in if needed and acting as department resource

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma or by endorsement) required
  • RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Previous OR Experience across multiple service lines required
  • Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice to have:

  • BSN, preferred
  • Nursing Specialty Certification, preferred
  • Previous Leadership Experience preferred
