Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Our Cardiac PCU is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Cardiac PCU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. Cardiac PCU Patient Population: Cardiac and general PCU; No stroke or trauma. Patient Ratios: 1:4 Number of Beds: 20 Shift: Seasonal Nights 7pm-7am (13 weeks, the 1st week is a full week of orientation)

  • Monitor patient progress
  • Use knowledge to help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications
  • Use expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment
  • Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards
  • Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly
  • Make adjustments as needed
  • Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff
  • Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering

Requirements:

  • A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
  • A valid Registered Nurse license
  • The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • 1 year of PCU experience
  • Cardiac PCU preferred
