Job Responsibility:
Serves as a resource to provide relief for staff meals and rest breaks
Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards
Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications
Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs
Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes
Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments
Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice
Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs
Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication
Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth
Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process
Receives and assures appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
1-2 years med/surg experience or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU or For those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
