Under the direction of nursing leadership, serves as a resource to provide relief for staff meals and rest breaks. Ability/skill levels and time management performance appropriate for this role will be taken into consideration for employee selection. Job Responsibility:

  • Serves as a resource to provide relief for staff meals and rest breaks
  • Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards
  • Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications
  • Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs
  • Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes
  • Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments
  • Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice
  • Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs
  • Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication
  • Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth
  • Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process
  • Receives and assures appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • 1-2 years med/surg experience or New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU or For those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

Nice to have:

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
  • One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
  • Previous PCU/ICU experience
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute
  • Certified Neuroscience RN
