Our client, a nonprofit religious organization, is seeking a Ritual Assistant to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a 100% onsite role based in Newton, MA, offering $25-26/hour, free parking, and a Monday-Thursday 9:00-5:00 and Friday 9:00-2:00 schedule. The position supports a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive information.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and manage clergy calendars, service schedules, and communal observances
  • Coordinate logistics for worship services, clergy-led programs, concerts, and lifecycle events
  • Draft and send bereavement, thank-you, and pastoral communications with discretion
  • Manage registrations, donor-related administrative tasks, and ritual gift tracking
  • Provide Zoom support, document management, and cross-departmental administrative assistance
  • Support development and stewardship activities, including acknowledgments and record tracking

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of administrative, clergy support, or nonprofit experience
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Jewish ritual life and synagogue operations preferred
  • Comfort with Microsoft 365, Zoom, and CRM or event management systems
