At Mollie, we're building financial products that are as secure as they are effortless to use. As a Risk Officer, you'll partner directly with our product teams to ensure we build robust, compliant solutions without slowing down innovation. You're the bridge between regulatory reality and customer-centric product development, ensuring we navigate requirements smartly and safely. This isn't about policing or saying "no"—it's about finding the "how." You will simplify risk management for our internal teams, acting as a trusted advisor who helps shape new and existing products from the ground up. As Mollie continues to scale and integrate our GoCardless acquisition, your scope will evolve, offering you significant opportunities to shape how our risk and governance structures expand across Europe over the coming years.
Job Responsibility:
Guide the expansion of our product offerings by identifying and minimizing risks for both Mollie and our customers
Build and scale pragmatic risk frameworks, governance structures, and control mechanisms that enable business growth rather than blocking it
Streamline existing risk processes to empower product teams to self-assess and make fast, informed decisions independently
Serve as a key risk representative for the business, partnering seamlessly with external auditors, regulators, third parties, and our largest customers
Requirements:
3-7 years of relevant risk management experience, directly within the financial domain (bank, neo-bank, payment institution) or a related consultancy
A customer-first mindset, always considering the end-user impact when making security, regulatory, and risk decisions
Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk requirements to both highly technical builders and business stakeholders
Technical comfort and curiosity, allowing you to easily dive into different technology platforms, system architectures, and technical documentation
A strong grasp of how modern technology and financial solutions intersect with relevant European regulations and best practices
