In this key role, you will assist with the daily measurement of and adherence to risk limits while driving the ongoing evolution of our risk infrastructure—encompassing policy, electronic tools, techniques, and communications. As Risk Manager, you will learn about a broad array of commercial activities and their market risk exposures. You will become a subject matter expert in company proprietary risk measurement techniques, electronic tools, and oversight processes. As your knowledge grows, you will significantly contribute to the creation and improvement of new policies, electronic platforms, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance risk visibility and enforcement.
Job Responsibility:
Develop expertise in identifying market risk across all our business activities
Master our techniques and electronic tools for measuring and monitoring market risk in real-time
Become fully versed in, and enforce, our risk management policies as part of daily duties
Oversee risk positions daily
validate calculations and inputs, ensuring data is accurate and current
Follow authority protocols for positions outside allowable limits, collaborating with teams to resolve issues
Support meetings and conduct periodic position reviews
Collaborate with Financial Reporting & Analysis, IT, and commercial stakeholders to develop new electronic tools and platforms
Partner with the Risk Committee to draft and implement policies
Contribute to business analysis projects and take on additional assignments as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or Economics
5+ years of professional experience related to risk analysis, commodities, merchandising, hedging (public audit experience is a plus)
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
programming/technology skills are a plus
Familiarity with programming languages or technical tool development a plus
