Job Description:

The Risk, Control & Compliance Manager will work with stakeholders to ensure business process compliance, identify safety & security hazards, and implement measures to address risks. The role involves defining and implementing operating procedures, ensuring compliance with IKEA requirements and local legislation, and supporting the store's design and build-up. The manager will also develop training materials, lead risk topics, coordinate with emergency teams, and represent IKEA with outside agencies. The position requires a strong background in compliance, risk management, and leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure business process compliance
  • Identify safety & security hazards and process gaps
  • Define and implement operating procedures and standards
  • Ensure safety and security operating systems meet IKEA requirements and local legislation
  • Adapt internal and national requirements to meet IKEA’s safety & security intended level of protection
  • Support implementation of IKEA safety & security requirements during store design and build-up
  • Develop training materials for co-workers and external partners
  • Lead and drive risk topics regarding potential operational challenges
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audits
  • Develop and implement action plans for administration
  • Coordinate with the store Emergency Response Team
  • Represent IKEA brand with outside agencies
  • Drive a Risk & Compliance culture
  • Investigate and report incidents and accidents
  • Coordinate insurance claims procedures
  • Improve sales results by ensuring inventory accuracy and detecting sources of shrinkage
  • Act as initial point of contact for fraudulent activities or unethical behaviors
  • Commit to sustainability objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational health/safety, Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar or compliance role in retail or related industries (minimum with 3+ years in managerial level)
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English and in the local language (written and verbally) and influence when divergent interests
  • Experience with incident reporting and claims handling process with insurance company
  • Experience in managing FCC and security guards
  • Ability to influence and develop people and act as a role model and coach
  • Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Experience dealing with fire drills, system testing, and crisis management
  • Experienced in investigating fraud and unethical behaviours
  • Strong management, and leadership experience and a self-starter with a positive mindset
  • Experience in setting and implementing long-term strategic plans, setting budgets, and following up goals
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions
  • Ability to read and understand legal and technical documents
  • Strong technical knowledge of security and safety systems
  • Understand profit and loss and how to affect its result through their actions
  • Experienced in data and trend analysis
  • Working knowledge of MS Office computer programs (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
