Job Description:

Lead the safety, security, and compliance of store operations by integrating risk management frameworks, fostering a safety culture, and ensuring adherence to IKEA's standards and local regulations. Responsibilities include compliance management, risk assessment, emergency response readiness, training development, and fostering a proactive safety culture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure store operations meet IKEA’s safety standards and comply with standard operating procedures, local legislation, and regulatory requirements
  • identify, assess, and address safety and security hazards
  • implement preventive and corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety operating procedures and systems
  • provide expertise and develop training materials for co-workers and external partners
  • oversee ongoing training and audits related to safety and compliance
  • coordinate with the Emergency Response Team
  • lead crisis management and emergency response efforts
  • promote a safety-focused culture throughout the store
  • educate and empower co-workers and external service providers on safety, risk management, and ethical behavior
  • lead incident investigations and resolve safety issues
  • ensure compliance with internal and external audits
  • represent IKEA in communications with external agencies
  • identify areas of potential fraud and implement proper controls

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
  • at least 10 years of experience in a similar or compliance role, including 3 years in a managerial capacity
  • passionate about people, safety, and creating a strong Risk & Compliance culture
  • excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety, risk assessment, safety systems (including fire and security), and local regulations
  • proficient in incident investigation, fraud management, and crisis handling
  • strong personal integrity
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
