Job Description:

Risk & Compliance Manager position responsible for protecting and strengthening the IKEA brand through risk management, data protection, compliance, business operations, health and safety. Oversees safety and security of people and property, manages risk assessments, investigations, and ensures compliance with various regulations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Hires, onboards and trains the co-workers
  • Directs the overall selection, onboarding, development of coworkers
  • Creates individual development plans to secure succession
  • Manages resource planning, co-worker relations issues and performance and delegates responsibilities
  • Executes various compliance tasks including assessments, follow-up, training, and statistical reports
  • Oversees the safety and security of people and property within the site/unit
  • Establishes and updates various business plans and action plans
  • Initiates, monitors, and responds to internal and external incidents
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the location's liability claims
  • Minimizes theft and fraud
  • Leads the unit's physical security program and safety program
  • Works closely with outside agencies

Requirements:

  • At least 3-years of previous retail Safety & Security Management experience
  • At least 3-years IKEA Risk & Compliance experience including internal training programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding safety, security, and risk in a retail environment
  • Previous experience with running/implementing a comprehensive safety program and security program in a retail environment
  • Previous experience performing risk assessments, investigating safety and security incidents including internal & external theft and fraud investigations
  • Performing root cause analysis
  • Completing and overseeing incident reporting
  • Performing crisis management
  • Monitoring compliance for data privacy
  • Implementing and training de-escalation methods
  • Managing safety and security vendors
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Candidates in Oregon, New York, and St. Louis, MO, must be eligible to obtain a security guard license
