Job Description

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer to work on an 12-months assignment in Spring, TX with benefits.

Job Responsibility

  • Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the project's goals, objectives, and procedures
  • Assures accurate and timely communication among the Project Team and other company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues
  • Review designs for new projects and upgrade of existing facilities for compliance with company and industry safety standards
  • Works with Project Team to coordinate timely completion of studies and assessments
  • Supports Advisor and Project Teams in coordination with EPCs for contractor led/facilitated assessments
  • Develops/ Reviews study charters, carries out reviews and prepares reports
  • Follows up with action owners to progress Action Resolution Plan development and endorsement. Stewards and progresses action items to resolution
  • As needed, facilitates Company led studies/assessments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Offshore experience, particularly in the subsea area
  • Guideword HAZOP facilitation experience
  • Able to carry out consequence modelling (using DNV PHAST)
  • Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
