Axiom, the leading provider of on-demand legal talent globally, is seeking risk and compliance professionals to support one of Australia's leading superannuation funds on a long-term interim to perm role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, collaborating closely with internal business and legal leaders, guiding teams on compliance initatives across the business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain the risk profile for ensuring risk exposures remain within appetite
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments across operational processes, third-party service providers, and investment performance activities
  • Deliver risk reporting and insights to senior executives, committees, and the Board, with a focus on operational, investment, and third-party risk
  • Lead or participate in governance forums related to operational risk, investment risk, and performance risk, fostering collaboration across business and risk teams

Requirements:

  • 3 – 8+ years of experience in the superannuation or banking industry
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and controls, particularly in investment operations or financial services
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, and compliance requirements, including regulatory and governance expectations (e.g., APRA standards)
  • Familiarity with investment operations, performance measurement, and related business processes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly in complex organisational structures
  • Proven experience in a Line 1 risk management role, ideally within investment operations or financial services
