Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Consultant to participate in analysis and modeling initiatives within Risk Management. The role involves data extraction, statistical modeling, performance reporting, and collaborating with various business lines to support trading activities and ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in analysis and modeling initiatives
  • Identify opportunity for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation improvements
  • Review and analyze programing models to extract data
  • Manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling
  • Coordinate and consolidate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports
  • Present recommendations for resolving data reconciliation, production, and database issues
  • Develop expertise in policy governance, risk projects, and regulatory requests
  • Collaborate with peers, managers, compliance, and various lines of business
  • Timely and accurate daily P&L reporting and general ledger reconciliations
  • Research and identify P&L issues
  • Month-end close for P&L and substantiation of balance sheet
  • Utilize P&L attribution to validate reported P&L
  • Track daily asset usage by Legal Entity and LoB
  • Produce and analyze Volcker metrics
  • Prepare weekly/monthly management reports/financial highlights
  • Provide commentary on P&L and balance sheet drivers
  • Ensure P&L reported accurately on each legal entity
  • Prepare material for audit examinations
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and audit recommendations
  • Develop and improve internal controls
  • Maintain accurate policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • CA/CFA/FRM degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business
  • Experience in analytics, reporting, finance, or accounting
  • Experience with Product Control function at a large bank
  • Good understanding of Structured Products business with exposure to structured/exotic derivative products
  • Experience working in global teams
  • Proficient working with complex data, especially associated with trading activities
  • Advanced desktop skills in MS Office products, especially MS Excel and MS Access
  • Experience with tools like SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI
  • Experience supporting Trading and Structured Products businesses
  • Experience researching and resolving P&L issues arising from incorrect trade bookings, system errors, and valuation discrepancies
