Job Description:

The Rip Saw Downstacker is responsible for stacking and banding boards coming out of the Rip Saw, ensuring product quality and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform visual inspections of the product to ensure quality standards are met
  • Make minor adjustments to the machine to maintain product tolerance
  • Stack boards and pieces onto a lift table or cart in a neat and orderly fashion according to size as they come off the saw
  • Place tags on units and use the banding tool to affix strapping
  • Keep the Shift Supervisor informed of any safety-related issues or concerns
  • Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the work area free from clutter and debris
  • Complete end-of-shift paperwork in a neat and legible fashion

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred background in agricultural or industrial settings
  • Ability to lift and move boards weighing 50 – 75 lbs. (with assistance)
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, bend, push, pull, and reach for the duration of an 8-hour shift
  • Excellent safety awareness for self and others
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Proficiency in operating PLC screens
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of multiple numbers and fractions
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch
  • Ability to work without constant supervision
