The Rip Saw Downstacker is responsible for stacking and banding boards coming out of the Rip Saw, ensuring product quality and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform visual inspections of the product to ensure quality standards are met
Make minor adjustments to the machine to maintain product tolerance
Stack boards and pieces onto a lift table or cart in a neat and orderly fashion according to size as they come off the saw
Place tags on units and use the banding tool to affix strapping
Keep the Shift Supervisor informed of any safety-related issues or concerns
Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the work area free from clutter and debris
Complete end-of-shift paperwork in a neat and legible fashion
Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred background in agricultural or industrial settings
Ability to lift and move boards weighing 50 – 75 lbs. (with assistance)
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, bend, push, pull, and reach for the duration of an 8-hour shift
Excellent safety awareness for self and others
Good mechanical skills
Proficiency in operating PLC screens
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of multiple numbers and fractions
Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch
