Job Description:

Randstad is delighted to partner with one of Australia's leading defence primes, BAE Systems, who are recruiting experienced Riggers to join their Operator team for major naval shipbuilding programs in Osborne, SA. This casual position is a great opportunity for a passionate individual who is eager to grow their career and make a valuable contribution to the defence shipbuilding industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working in the most advanced and modern shipbuilding hub in Australia, constructing world-class naval vessels as part of the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program
  • Daily interaction with the operator team
  • Ensuring that you only perform the tasks you are trained and have been deemed competent to perform including high risk license tasks
  • Ensure that all equipment and areas used by the team are maintained in a safe and organised manner
  • Responsible for your own safety and including the safety of fellow workers and have involvements in the team's safety and quality requirements and working to meet or exceed results

Requirements:

  • Current High Risk Licences (Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Rigging, Dogging ticket)
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication, influencing and skills
  • Strong safety focus and enhancing the site safety environment
  • Must be eligible to apply for Australian Defence Security clearance

  • Strictly follow nuclear site safety rules, including SPA/CCNSG, permit-to-work systems, radiological controls, and isolation procedures
  • Complete pre-job briefs, toolbox talks, and dynamic risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, equipment checks, lifting gear registers, and reporting of defects
