Job Description

We currently require Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team in Norwich. You will keep several local grounds in a wonderful condition for our Clarion Housing contract, primarily grass cutting on a ride on mower. You may be also expected to use a pedestrian mower, and do strimming, pruning, weeding, shrub and border maintenance, litter picking and any other related horticultural duties. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills, gain valuable experience, and grow with us in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Keep several local grounds in a wonderful condition for our Clarion Housing contract
  • Primarily grass cutting on a ride on mower
  • Use a pedestrian mower
  • Do strimming, pruning, weeding, shrub and border maintenance, litter picking and any other related horticultural duties

Requirements

  • Previous Grounds Maintenance experience is required
  • A full valid UK manual driving licence is essential
  • Towing experience essential - B+E classes on license
  • PA1 and PA6 licenses are preferred
  • Can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • General maintenance of areas to include both cut and collect and cut and drop using both ride-on and pedestrian machinery
  • Undertake horticultural operations: hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance and planting, strimming and blowing, hard surface maintenance, tree maintenance, chemical application, garden clearance and general landscape works
  • Removing litter, emptying litter / dog bins and clearing leaves
  • Carryout Groundsman duties in accordance with best practice
  • Ensure that lower graded members of staff understand instructions from you and your Line Manager and you work together as a team
  • Undertake activities utilising craft skills, e.g. site preparation and construction
  • Operate ride-on mowers and pedestrian mowers
  • Use a range of tools and equipment, including power tools and light plant
  • Drive company vehicles/tow trailers as required
  • Assisting the Chargehand to carry out the requirements of the contract
