Job Responsibility:
Will be under the general direction of one or more design and manufacturing engineers with considerable autonomy in getting the job done
RF R&D includes primarily RF components (amplifier and switch testing, electronic circuit troubleshooting and repair), but may expand into other areas including antennas and antenna-related components that are in RF/microwave instruments
RF R&D Manufacturing support requires mechanical, as well as RF capabilities to build and test the RF components in question
Perform standard duties and tasks and will resolve routine questions and problems independently
Work will be performed under general direction on a day-to-day basis and will be reviewed upon completion
Develop thorough technical solutions to a wide range of problems and may direct less-experienced employees
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Perform other duties as necessary
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relatable work experience
Ability to develop a wide range of R&D-support capabilities
Ability to relate and communicate well with people both from the engineering and production ranks
A DoW Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work
The applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access
As this position requires operating a company vehicle, an offer and subsequent employment are contingent upon possessing and maintaining a valid US driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
Nice to have:
General knowledge of electrical/RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, DVM, etc.) and antenna troubleshooting
Experience with machining, to include vertical mills, routers, bandsaws, lathes and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Mastercam are desired
Experience with RF and RCS range testing
Sheet metal and body filler experience
Experience in soldering, bonding, sealing
Experience in the process of fabricating and assembling PCB’s and/or PAB’s
Experience with various hand and power tools
Experience with wood working equipment such as panel saws, table saws, planers, routers and other various equipment
Experience with auto, auto body and carpentry work apply well for the fabrication and assembly skills needed for this position
Drawing interpretation and redlining experience
