The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Job Responsibility:

  • Will be under the general direction of one or more design and manufacturing engineers with considerable autonomy in getting the job done
  • RF R&D includes primarily RF components (amplifier and switch testing, electronic circuit troubleshooting and repair), but may expand into other areas including antennas and antenna-related components that are in RF/microwave instruments
  • RF R&D Manufacturing support requires mechanical, as well as RF capabilities to build and test the RF components in question
  • Perform standard duties and tasks and will resolve routine questions and problems independently
  • Work will be performed under general direction on a day-to-day basis and will be reviewed upon completion
  • Develop thorough technical solutions to a wide range of problems and may direct less-experienced employees
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relatable work experience
  • Ability to develop a wide range of R&D-support capabilities
  • Ability to relate and communicate well with people both from the engineering and production ranks
  • A DoW Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work
  • The applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access
  • As this position requires operating a company vehicle, an offer and subsequent employment are contingent upon possessing and maintaining a valid US driver's license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Nice to have:

  • General knowledge of electrical/RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, DVM, etc.) and antenna troubleshooting
  • Experience with machining, to include vertical mills, routers, bandsaws, lathes and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Mastercam are desired
  • Experience with RF and RCS range testing
  • Sheet metal and body filler experience
  • Experience in soldering, bonding, sealing
  • Experience in the process of fabricating and assembling PCB’s and/or PAB’s
  • Experience with various hand and power tools
  • Experience with wood working equipment such as panel saws, table saws, planers, routers and other various equipment
  • Experience with auto, auto body and carpentry work apply well for the fabrication and assembly skills needed for this position
  • Drawing interpretation and redlining experience
