The RF Systems Engineer II will be working in a team environment, with opportunities for customer engagement, concept design, analysis, integration, and test, plus on-orbit operations.
Job Responsibility:
Detail-oriented, good at problem-solving and skilled at prioritizing time
Competent with RF Systems requirements development, verification techniques, subsystem design and link analyses
Competent with RF Systems layout and impacts to other subsystems and familiar with standard configuration and interfaces
Competent with the RF subsystem component details. Beginning to interact with hardware suppliers with oversight
Growing expertise in RF subsystem testing, competent with performing RF testing, NCR troubleshooting, reviewing test results and creating test reports. Leaning to support system level tests that include use of the RF system
Competent with mission concept of operations, updating the space-to-ground ICD and providing lead RF support to mission operations
Communicates with contacts inside and outside the RF Systems team to explain and interpret processes and procedures and to solve tactical issues
Developing skills necessary for effective interactions across teams
Apply company process to solve routine issues and able to navigate some more complex issues with some oversight
Comfortable with public speaking. Able to confidently present to BCT peers and standard material to customers
Ensure all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives

Requirements:
2+ years related experience
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required
Experience as a spacecraft systems engineer, RF subsystem engineer, RF subsystem test engineer, RF design engineer, or ground system engineer operating spacecraft on orbit
Experience in RF system design or RF system testing
Experience with RF test equipment including power meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and RF modems
Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
Knowledge of all phases of the program life cycle (business development, mission formulation, requirements flow-down, manufacturing, integration and test, and on-orbit operations)
Knowledge of space communication system design, link budget analysis, component specification/procurement, RF system testing and on-orbit operations
Ability to develop RF communications designs across a diverse set of customer needs with support from domain experts
Ability to work with moderate supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
Knowledge of satellite communication encryption strategies
Good documentation and communication skills
Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
