Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking RF Integration Technicians to support a Navy project with an Air Logistics Integrator in San Diego, CA. We are seeking a technician to partner with the Integration and Test team by bridging the gap between network configuration and physical RF execution in both lab based environments and in the field.
Job Responsibility
Support Systems Engineering and Integration Teams (SEITs) with the physical installation and logical configuration of networked communications nodes
Conduct hardware-level RF verification, including VSWR and insertion loss measurements, to ensure end‑to‑end signal integrity across the gateway architecture
Sustain the System Integration Lab (SIL) environment by rack‑mounting servers, routing RF and Ethernet cabling, and managing calibration and readiness of test equipment
Assist with the execution of test procedures during laboratory and field events
monitor system health logs and perform real‑time hardware and software troubleshooting
Create, capture, and deploy Windows and Linux system images to gateway hardware and tactical radio platforms
Support mission preparation by physically loading cryptographic keys and mission data into tactical radio systems (e.g., Link 16, TTNT)
Deploy to field and flight line environments to establish ground stations, install podded systems, and support ground and live-flight test events
Requirements
Active Secret Clearance (highly preferred)
Bachelors in STEM with 1-2+ years of experience, 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
2+ years of experience maintaining Linux and Windows environments, including CLI proficiency
Working knowledge of RF signal flow and hands-on experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, and VNAs
Solid understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and IP subnetting
Experience with server hardware, tactical radio systems, and MIL-SPEC cabling
Ability to troubleshoot complex systems under pressure in austere or flight-line environments
