Job Description

Client in Plano seeking a contract-to-hire Revenue Staff Accountant to add to their growing team. This is a hybrid opportunity and this candidate must have strong collections and A/R experience as well as advanced Excel skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Generate and submit invoices in accordance with customer requirements and policies
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Review and analyze customer contracts
  • Prepare and maintain deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Pursue collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances and recommend reserves write-offs
  • Prepare invoice adjustments, credit memos, debit memos, refunds, and related journal entries
  • Complete the monthly financial statement close for accounts receivable and revenue accounting
  • Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling differences
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and other departments
  • Crosstrain Accounting Clerks and other team members as needed
  • Perform other duties to support the Revenue and Accounts Receivable team
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
  • Drive process improvements for quality and efficiency, and identify cost-saving opportunities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of revenue accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong project management, communication, problem-solving, analytical skills, and team player
  • Professionalism and assertiveness in customer communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, PivotTable, INDEX MATCH)
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of accounts receivable and / or revenue accounting experience
  • Experience in Mobile Internet, e-commerce, digital advertising, telecommunications, or Wi-Fi industries is desirable
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred
  • Active or inactive U.S. CPA a plus
