Job Description

The Director of Revenue is required to analyze current property and market performance to develop pricing and yield strategies to achieve maximum revenue growth and profitability Oversees revenue management activities within the hotel. Oversees all processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis. Develops and recommends sales strategy for pricing of the transient customer, wholesale, and group segments. Identifies new revenue opportunities and effectively communicates sales strategy and pricing to all key stakeholders.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the reservations department
  • Hires, trains, coaches and develops team to obtain maximum employee engagement and productivity
  • Generates updates on transient segment each period and continually analyzes transient booking patterns
  • Maintains accurate reservation system information
  • Checks distribution channels regularly for hotel positioning, information accuracy and competitor positioning
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Analyzes weekly and monthly STAR information to assist in analyzing past strategies
  • identifies areas needing improvement, identifies competitor set strengths, and develops strategies to best capture available Market Share
  • Analyze STAR information to assist in development of RevPAR Index forecasts
  • Generates yearly room revenue budget
  • Initiates, implements and evaluates revenue tests
  • Analyze data to generate and distribute weekly and 3-month forecast
  • Prepare, Analyze and Distribute month end reports, providing critical analysis of hotel performance.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate data historical statistical data, including market segmentation
  • Actively participate in Annual Budget Meetings and Preparation and complete the Rate & Occupancy Statistics
  • Work with CEC Account Manager to ensure Call Center mains call/conversion ratios
  • Ensure all rate schedules are accurately loaded
  • Manage and update current selling strategies in all distribution channels
  • Maintain close relationships with the market manager of OTA’s to maximize the opportunities with these channels
  • Ensure Night Audit, Front Desk and Reservations correctly use rate schedules and market segment codes, and Daily Stats Report accuracy
  • Ensure consistent brand standard for images and collateral throughout hotel
  • Review Sales Managers month-end Reports
  • Work with GM and DOS to establish Sales Managers Incentives. Calculate data on a Trimester basis ensuring accuracy for submission to VP
  • Monitor group pace and other booking trends and share knowledge with Sales team
  • Ensure all Marriott mandatory rate and packages are loaded correctly.
  • Ensures that sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate

Requirements

  • Diploma in Hotel Management or Business Administration would be considered an asset
  • Marriot One Yield Certification
  • Marriott Revenue Management/Front Office experience
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS systems and ADP Workforce Now payroll software
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years in hotel reservations/revenue management experience is required
  • MS Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
