The Revenue Cycle Coding Analyst responds to and/or coordinates responses for coding related denials from Finance, Clinic Operations, or other stakeholder departments.In addition, the Revenue Cycle Coding Analyst analyzes reports and data associated with revenue cycle performance to identify areas of improvement related to people, process or technology.
Job Responsibility:
Responds to and/or coordinates responses for coding related denials from Finance, Clinic Operations, or other stakeholder departments
Conduct Root Cause Analysis related to Revenue Cycle performance and coding denials. Summarize and Present findings
Lead or Participate in action plan for correction or process improvement
Collaborate with Business Office and Clinic Ops management to assess business needs related to revenue cycle and assist with identifying existing system enhancements or new technology to meet those needs
Collaborate with Coding leadership to educate staff on denials and changes to payer policies that affect reimbursement
Monitor Revenue Cycle KPI for assigned Group/Regional Market to identify issues impacting Revenue Cycle Performance
Point of Contact for Group/Regional specific partners from Finance and Clinic Ops to address/understand Revenue Cycle trends and data
Requirements:
AA/AS degree in Health Care Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience required
3 years experience working in healthcare revenue cycle
Strong background and understanding of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS
CPC - Certified Professional Coder or CCS or CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist
Nice to have:
Physician revenue cycle experience
5 years experience working in healthcare revenue cycle
experience training/mentoring others
