Job Description:

Ellie Mental Health Larchmont is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Client Services & Billing Specialist to join our revenue cycle team. This role blends insurance billing and client-facing support in a fast-growing behavioral health practice. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate claims processing, timely collections, and a positive financial experience for our clients while partnering closely with clinicians and administrative leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Submit primary and secondary insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
  • Review, research, and resolve denied or rejected claims
  • follow up with payers as needed
  • Manage aging reports and pursue unpaid claims to resolution
  • Respond to patient billing questions and explain balances clearly and professionally
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and post payments
  • Secure and manage prior authorizations when required
  • Assist with audits, month-end reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams on documentation, coding accuracy, and billing workflows

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in behavioral or mental health
  • Strong working knowledge of CPT codes, ICD-10 coding, insurance billing rules, and full-cycle revenue operations
  • Experience with EHR or practice management systems required
  • Valant EHR experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with major payers including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism
